TK (TRANSITIONAL KINDERGAREN)

AGES: 4 & 5 YEAR OLDS

RATIO: 1:8

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be potty trained and evaluated for social and emotional readiness.

With different cut off dates changing over the years, there is now a need for the "inbetween" of not quite kindergarten and not quite preschool.

How can we best prepare children for Kindergaren and extended school work time while incorporating play which is equally as important?

  • Shift the Goal: "School Readiness, "Not "Academic Readiness"

  • Use Play as the Vehicle for Learning (Not a break from it)

  • Prioritize Social-Emotional Skills Daily

  • Maintain Predicable Routines (with flexibility)

  • Honor Developmental Differences

WHAT WILL OUR TK PROGRAM LOOK LIKE?

  • Circle Time: Listening to intentional circle time

  • Handwriting: Trace the letter in handwriting

  • Language Arts/Reading: Learning about arts/reading

  • Math: Playing and counting blocks

  • Individual and Group Play: Individually and Group Play

  • Bible Study: Bible stories and and Bible Study
